GLOBAL LOGISTICS COMPANY - CAPE TOWN

01 December 2017

A Cape Town based global logistics company approached us to create a fresh, contemporary work space in their new building near the airport. With limited space and budget available, we were eager to design appealing & functional furniture highlighting their corporate identity yet being compact & economical at the same time.

With thoughtful space-planning we grouped the desks into bench-style, row-based clusters that used up minimal floor space and achieved the desired cost savings. The use of double worktops divided by drop-in sandblasted glass screens with shared hardware kept the desks simple to install whilst the desk-height pedestals supporting the workstations allowed us to keep the supporting white, square tubing metal frames to a minimum.

Bespoke mobile ottomans with handles were designed to double up as shared visitors’ chairs at the open-plan clusters and used as pause area soft seating when necessary. Their corporate colour, red, was used in the fabrics and on the walls to brighten up the interiors against the background of the neutral Coimbra and white furniture. The canteen wallpaper created a spacious, outdoor backdrop against the mix of red and white stackable café chairs and tables with the aeroplane providing a focal point for the installation. The client was very pleased with the final product and their feedback helped us develop a functional and effective design for future projects.
