We were approached to create a fresh, contemporary work space for this client's new airport-based building. With limited space & budget, we were eager to design appealing & functional furniture highlighting their corporate identity yet being compact & economical at the same time. With thoughtful space-planning we grouped the desks into bench-style clusters that used minimal floor space & achieved the desired cost savings. Double worktops divided by drop-in sandblasted glass screens kept the desks simple to install whilst the supporting desk-height pedestals allowed us to keep the white metal frames to a minimum. Bespoke mobile ottomans with handles were designed to double up as shared visitors’ chairs & pause area soft seating. Their corporate colour, red, was used in the fabrics & on the walls to brighten up the interiors against the background of the neutral Coimbra & white furniture. The canteen wallpaper created a spacious, outdoor backdrop against the café chairs & tables with the aeroplane providing a focal point. The client was very pleased with the final product & their feedback helped us develop a functional & effective design for future projects.
View ProjectUrban World was appointed to supply modern, functional furniture for this global reinsurance company, in keeping with their London offices. Large workstations with plenty of storage was required in the open plan offices without blocking the Waterfront vista. To assist with this, floating frosted glass desk-top screens were used to maximise natural light whilst demarcating personal space. Storage modules had bright upholstered fabric panels added to contrast with the neutral tones of the furniture and cushioned pedestals were introduced at the workstations to double up as visitors' chairs. Flexibility was a key requirement for all meeting, training and boardrooms and multi-purpose, mobile tables with folding tops were selected to fulfill this part of the brief.
View ProjectThis project was initiated by an urgent need for space-planning in order to ascertain if the proposed office area could accommodate sufficient people for a start-up company in Cape Town. Site visits & a quick turn-around of AutoCAD layouts ensured that the client was able to secure the desired space after which we put together a bright, cost effective & functional open plan office to meet the client's brief which was to reflect a similar feel & corporate identity to its headquarters in Amsterdam.
